Exploding in the music scene all over Canada

Their western Canadian tour has come to an end for this group, three ladies who call themselves Sweet Alibi, but it is hardly the end for this year. Kicking off the festival season in Manitoba, they are looking forward to their first appearance at the Back 40 Folk Festival on June 3, 2012.

In less than three years since their debut, Sweet Alibi has written and recorded their first album, toured western Canada, and is planning to complete the tour in the eastern part of the country in the fall. A tour in Europe is also planned for next year as well as filming their first music video. Shall we say these ladies are successful in the local and now national music industry?

There is a collaborative effort when it comes to song selection and writing, the lyrics have meaning most of which is their unique rendition of relationships and life experiences. Along with the group's lyrical success, the ability to play any instrument benefits the musical component of their work.

The sounds are inspired by folk and soulful melody; they are beautifully put together to make the group's unique sound. Currently working on a second album, Sweet Alibi has only high hopes that this one will be as successful as the first. No longer rookies in studio, recording their first album went smoothly and they absorbed every aspect of the experience.

Kicking off festival season in Manitoba is sure to be an experience you won't want to miss with these lovely ladies taking stage at the Back 40 Folk Festival.
