Oh, Monday – how the world loathes you. Unfortunately, we
can’t change Monday’s placement on the calendar, it follows Sunday – the day of
rest. We can however, think of Monday in a different light and shed a little
optimism on this dreaded weekly occurrence.
It’s a fresh start
Like the start of a new day brings new possibilities, so
does the start of a new week. Instead of dreading the week, embrace it by being
proactive in your approach. Like diets, nothing starts until Monday. This allows you to rest, relax, and socialize.
Unless of course you are like me and take the weekend to catch up on work, then Monday isn't a far stretch from the ordinary hustle, except for the screeching alarm at 6:00 AM.
Prepare for itUnless of course you are like me and take the weekend to catch up on work, then Monday isn't a far stretch from the ordinary hustle, except for the screeching alarm at 6:00 AM.
It’s all about organization, stay on top of your week’s events and meetings - plan ahead. You'll feel less overwhelmed if you know what you have to do, when, and with whom.
Have something to look
forward to
If you’re like me and organize your week on Sundays, then
Monday is a great time to schedule something that will have you excited to get
to. Whether that be catching up on last week’s PVR’d sitcoms or dramas, or
trying a new workout at home, or at the gym – you have time to do it now, since
your chores were done on Sunday.
The blaring alarm clock is never welcomed, it doesn't matter
if it’s Monday or Thursday, starting the week off with a buzzer screaming in
your ear is worse than waking up to a screaming child. That said, it sounds
like the one thing that needs good PR is the alarm clock, Monday has nothing to
do with that thing.
