Rob Ford's confession and the backlash

The scandal came to an end today, this time Rob Ford has finally come clean about his crack smoking and the alleged video, but not without embarrassing his country, let alone his city. You've seen the headlines, it's hard not to, it's all around the world.

Evidently, after something like this hits the media, you have to expect social media to follow quickly behind, if not before traditional media had the chance to publish or air the story. Now that his confession is out, more information about the scandal has surfaced as well - like Ford's office hiring a hacker to destroy the alleged video. This goes without saying, the truth always comes out, it doesn't matter how much you try to hide it.
Toronto citizens are embarrassed, and are not afraid to voice their concern over the city's mayor and his ability to run one of the top five cities in Canada.

And yet, he refuses to step down.

In light of the event, social media is flooded by humorous tweets, and memes.

And my favorite...

When you're elected the mayor of a city, you must uphold that honor with the highest level of honesty and integrity. Unfortunately, Ford has none of those characteristics, and as such Toronto deserves a better mayor.

And this, just released - Rob Ford's timeline of quotes and media headlines, directly from CBC.
