Whether you’re late in the content marketing game, or you
have already adopted this strategy but you’re not quite sure where you’re going
with it – I’m here for guidance and support in your Content Marketing
endeavors.
First and foremost, we define Content Marketing as “a marketing technique of creating and distributing valuable,
relevant and consistent content to attract and acquire a clearly defined
audience – with the objective of driving profitable customer action”
I've said this before regarding a business or brand’s social
media presence – if you’re not going to do it right, don’t do it at all – this
also applies to content marketing. While social media builds a presence and
credibility in the market, content also has the power to drive profitable consumer
action.
Content should be rich in information and provide solutions
to problems that your consumers may be facing. Oftentimes, your consumers will
conduct a search for solutions to a problem that they may have; if your content
is written in the form of trying to make a sale, it will deter them from your
site, providing little to no value to the business.
Adding value to your content means educating your consumers by
providing them the solution that they need for their business. It builds trust
and credibility in your market.
Furthermore, creating industry relevant content is even
more important for keeping your consumers interested in your products or
services. In this digital age, a consumer wants information before they know it
but you need to grab their attention immediately and keep them interested
throughout the content.
Once you begin producing this type of content, don’t stop,
and certainly deter from being sporadic. Dispersing content evenly throughout
the month will appear orderly and organized. Use a content marketing calendar
template to get started, and follow the schedule.
